Kim Rioux
Kim grew up playing competitive sports, eating home-cooked meals and living what they thought was a well-balanced life. When balance seemed to be too far away, Kim turned to yoga.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in General Studies with a Psychology concentration at Springfield College, she had no real vision of where she would land. She had to put all her faith and trust in the world. Experimenting with mental health roles in an inner-city, then trying out administrative and operational roles in both private industry and nonprofit, there was no other choice but to embark on the journey that she was meant to travel on.
She completed her 200-Hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher certification in March 2020 at the Kripalu School of Yoga. It was during this training that she fell in love with Ayurveda. Lodging on campus at Kripalu offered her the full experience of what it means to study Ayurveda, and also to live Ayurveda. She may never forget the tongue scraper conversations and the dosha quizzes that permeated through what felt like every conversation. She became curious. During the pandemic, she dug deeper. After exploring different options that now became available due to remote learning, she felt instantly drawn to the curriculum and connection at Boston Ayurveda School. September 2021, she graduated from the Ayurveda Health Counselor training at Boston Ayurveda School and is now a certified Ayurveda Health Counselor starting her work in Ayurvedic Psychology. Kim has experience working with both youth and adult populations.
A little about her: she loves being outdoors and she is an advocate for environmental sustainability. Cooking fresh vegetables from the farm is her favorite. When it is possible, traveling gives her a new perspective on life and she tries to take advantage of every opportunity to explore, especially when it comes to yoga retreats. She is the youngest of three but oldest at heart!
She is delighted to be on this journey with her community.
