Kaveri Barros
Kaveri is an Ayurvedic Health Counselor at the Boston Ayurveda School. She comes from a unique background in Ayurvedic health, clinical microbiology, laboratory science, and customer management.
Kaveri is driven by helping and serving others. She started her career in a hospital setting working as a Clinical Microbiologist (MT) in Boston as well as in Phoenix, AZ after getting her BS at Northeastern University in Medical Laboratory Science. She eventually moved into the Biotech field and worked in the Service Department as a Support Engineer, managing the needs of both customers and colleagues. This is where she developed her innate gift to help and serve others. Although at the time she was successful in her career, there was something missing in her life. While exploring her own fertility and wellbeing, Kaveri began her pursuit of holistic health and wellness. She came to learn that balance must occur not only in the mind and body but also through the spirit. This profound realization led her to yoga and meditation, where she ultimately found alignment in reaching her soul's purpose. Kaveri’s journey brought her to learn Ayurveda at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in the Berkshires, where she became certified as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor and was later invited back to counsel in the Kripalu Healing Arts Department. In addition to her work with the Boston Ayurveda School, she counsels privately through her own business, Ayurveda with Kaveri. Her future plans are to deepen her practice with extensive Ayurvedic Practitioner training as well as Jyotish studies, as she has always been fascinated with Astrology.
Being of Indian descent, born in Bombay, India but raised in America, it's only natural that Kaveri finally feels rooted and at home while immersed in the ancient Vedic sciences. It's here at the Boston Ayurveda School that she offers her skills gained from the clinical and corporate worlds to share and serve her true passion, the wisdom of Ayurveda.
Kaveri splits her time between Boston, the Berkshires, and the Hudson Valley. She enjoys riding her bike around the city, exploring nature with her husband and their chihuahua, and spending time in the kitchen cooking nourishing meals for loved ones. She is an Airbnb Superhost and regularly travels to foreign lands to gain experience and perspective on how to remain humble while navigating through this thing we call life.
